ROSE ROOM
The school consists of four classrooms. Each of which is customized to suit the needs of the children.
The areas in the Rose Room have the same objectives, but the level of difficulty is different from the other rooms. The Rose Room caters to the very young child's early learning needs. The children's ages range from 18 months to three years old. When the child is ready, academically and socially, they will enter the Primary Program (Sunflower and Tulip Rooms).
Although there are separate classrooms, the children at MCH intermingle and socialize a great deal. A mentoring program has been established where older children instruct and provide lessons for the younger children. The younger children are also invited to periodically participate in the advanced classrooms. Thus, a strong sense of community has been established.
FACULTY
Sandy Massey
Claire Matranga Massey is the youngest of four sisters. She started her childcare experiences with caring for children and with many babysitting jobs for family and friends. After marrying in 1988 to her husband Joe, she was blessed with a beautiful baby girl Amanda. So that she could be a stay-at-home mom, her early adult childcare experience started in my own home. When her daughter turned five and started school. She then returned to school and a 40-hour workweek as a teacher.
Sandy received her Early Childhood Education Associates Degree at DCCC. The professor at DCCC thought that she was a ”good match“ for Media Children’s House and placed her here for her student teaching. MCH is her second home and family. She then received her Montessori Certification for Infants and Toddlers and looks forward to pursuing the Primary (3-6) Montessori Certification. Her accomplishments also include a list of conferences and courses in Montessori method, Special Education, The Peaceful Classroom and other areas of the curriculum. The Autistic Society also awarded Sandy recognition for her work with young children.
She loves being a teacher and being a part of such a wonderful family at MCH. She also loves returning home at the end of a busy day to her husband Joe, daughter Amanda and two cats.
