DAISY ROOM
The school consists of four classrooms. Each of which is customized to suit the needs of the children.
The Daisy Room is designed for the elementary student. Children learn through research, independent learning, ad group lessons. A wide variety of topics are covered, including history, geometry, geography, chemistry, physics, botany, zoology, the arts, and music.
Although there are separate classrooms, the children at MCH intermingle and socialize a great deal. A mentoring program has been established where older children instruct and provide lessons for the younger children. The younger children are also invited to periodically participate in the advanced classrooms. Thus, a strong sense of community has been established.
ELEMENTARY GUIDES
Melanie Bascelli
Melanie graduated from Neumann College with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Melanie began her teaching career at MCH in 1996 as a kindergarten teacher. Since then she has obtained two Montessori certifications for ages 3-6 and 6-9. Melanie plans to receive her third Montessori certificate for ages 9-12. Attending many Montessori conferences helps her to keep her classroom alive with hands on experiences. Teaching is her passion and spirit.
Kimberly Rydzewski
Kimberly graduated from Neumann College in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. While working towards her degree, Kimberly worked as a teacher's aid in our Sunflower Room. After earning her degree, Kymberly moved to Florida where she taught Kindergarten and First Grade for four years. We are excited to have her back at Media Children's House as a Daisy Room Directress. Kimberly is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Montessori Education. Kimberly is married and has a daughter who currently attends MCH. Fun Fact: Kymberly is a Media Children's House Alumni!
