WELCOME
Media Children's House is a private Montessori school, located in Aston, Pennsylvania. Programs are available for children ages eighteen months through elementary school. At Media Children's House, we look at each individual child as a unique person possessing the ability to live, learn, and love. We encourage each child to be him or herself, express feelings, and become the best he or she can be.
WHY CHOOSE MEDIA CHILDREN'S HOUSE?
MCH has a unique place in the market. The curriculum is based on the Montessori method and our classrooms provide each child with the opportunity to grow and learn at his/her own pace.
MCH also has the unique advantage of not only providing an excellent education, but also offering a before and after program school program. The after school program is filled with many different activities and is a great benefit for working parents who may not be able to pick up their child until 5:30 P.M. MCH strives to meet the needs of the child and the parent!
OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to guide the child to reach his/her potential. Our experienced faculty strives to meet the intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of each student. The elements of love, compassion and respect make for a nurturing environment.
PHILOSOPHY
Media Children's House Montessori School follows in the footsteps of Dr. Maria Montessori. The first children's house was introduced in the early 1900's by Dr. Montessori where the hands-on learning approach was developed. The children's house provides an environment in which children develop a respect for one's self and others. It is with the qualities of respect and active participation from each member of our school community that MCH bases its philosophy.
Dr. Montessori was the first to introduce the child size classroom. The room is orderly and filled with enriching materials for the child to explore. A multi-sensory environment invites the child to a world of discovery! Activities in self-help skills, sensorial application, mathematics, language and culture are explored daily. Children work independently during work time, in areas of their interest. Teachers maintain daily records and are well trained observers.
ADMINISTRATION
Victoria Eschbach-Whitby
Victoria began her experience in the Montessori classroom in the 1980's. She assisted in the classroom through high school and college. In 1990 she graduated from Neumann College with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In 1992 Victoria became Director and President of Media Children's House, then located in a church with a beginning enrollment of eight students. While serving as Head of School at MCH, Victoria taught 2 courses at Delaware County Community College. Her enthusiasm for early childhood education and dedication for instructing the young child inspired her to successfully teach Child Development and Observing and Recording Behavior at the college level. Victoria is currently working on her master’s degree at West Chester University and has received her Montessori training from London Montessori Training Centre.
In 2001 Victoria took an active role in finding a new and permanent home for MCH in Aston. It is here that you will discover the magic of the Montessori classrooms. During her tenure, the school grew from two classrooms to four with nearly 100 students.
